So Be it
Those three words… uttered from a woman who was perhaps the lowest station in the community. Still, she was the one that they encountered that night. Interesting… that in that moment when the messengers needed to escape, her very nature knew the truth on which they stood.
She recognized it..
Unwavering
Believing.
She arrived in that moment. Maybe it had been building all her life. Her life.. never even hers.. really. Living in servitude of appetites that found her useful. But in one moment, inside one choice, she chose.
Her breath paused, lips parted, and from which.. she uttered “So Be it.” and as they turned to make their escape ..she ‘bound the scarlet line in the window.’
So powerful, our choices. Even when we believe we are forgotten, deboned, powerless. We have the power to reclaim and proceed. So, why do we often turn the page backwards. Re-read the old stories, get stuck on a line long faded.. forgetting our very worth… until we don’t.. forget.
